As if it isn’t hard enough to figure out what festively themed novelty toy to purchase for your ever expanding collection of gaudy Christmas related paraphernalia some crazy people have to go kicking up a fuss because according to The Sun and The Guardian  ‘Jingle Bells’ when sung by a toy mouse sounds a bit like ‘paedophile’.

The toy distributors, instead of thinking like reasonable people that it is a well known tune and children aren’t going to think it says paedophile, only their slightly warped parents will, bowed to public ignorance and removed the product from the shelves lest anyone should take offence at their inability to hear things properly.

One parent said “Luckily my children are too young to understand.” Too young to understand their parents are deluded I assume they meant.

Have a listen for yourself at the Sun website. I personally didn’t think it sounded like paedophile until I tried to put my head in the frame of mind of an enraged parent and kept repeating the word paedophile to myself while listening to it.
