Unfortunately I have a bone to pick with The Pod Delusion this week; in Episode 9 in the section on Hollywood Skepticism by Jon Treadway he used this section to review the Jon Ronson book inspired film The Man Who Stare at Goats, I have not seen this film yet and I found it particularly annoying that there should be a couple of spoilers in this segment, one with no warning and then another with such a quick warning that I had no time to yank my headphones out of my ears before the damage was done. What made this all the more annoying was that in subsequent segment on Downloading TV by Mark Thompson, Mark spoke quite passionately about how he HATES spoilers. I appreciate that the segments are composed separately but I do wonder if the irony was lost on Editor James O’Malley?

Although this might seem a small bone of contention on an otherwise great podcast there really is nothing more annoying than a spoiler, if sceptical commentators are going to venture into film criticism then they should at least do it with a degree of respect to those of us that haven’t seen the film. Failing this a decent warning would be nice.

None the less keep up the great work guys! Just maybe leave the film criticism to Mark Kermode in the future.
